Iran Press/ Iran news: According to Iranpress, Yalda night (or shab-e Chelleh) has been one of the old and ancient traditions of Iranian people up to now.
A very beautiful and popular custom of Iranians on the longest night of the year is to see and to visit relatives and elderlies, which is the staying up until well at midnight and recording unforgettable memories of the last day and night of autumn.
A number of visitors to the exhibition of preservation of national traditions of Yalda night in an interview with Iranpress correspondent in Tabriz called Yalda night the best excuse to see elders and said:
"seeing and visiting and respecting the elderlies is one of the most important traditions of Iranians on the longest night of the year."
The exhibition of preserving the national traditions of Yalda night was held in Tabriz in a bid to preserve these traditions and introducing foods, nuts and fruits specially for the night of Yalda for a week.
The reception of the cultural event of preserving the authentic traditions of Yalda night in Tabriz was widespread and this event continued until Wednesday night.
Tonight (Thursday night) is Yalda night, the longest night of the year, and Iranians end this night with a lasting period with local customs.
