Iran Press/ West Asia: Major General Mohammad Bagheri, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran, met and discussed with Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammad Shia' al-Sudani in Baghdad on Sunday.
In the meeting, the Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, while thanking the Iraqi government for the decisive order to disarm the anti-revolutionary armed groups in the Kurdistan region of Iraq, which was concluded with the drafting and signing of the security agreement, said: "It is expected that the completion of the process of disarming these groups will be pursued seriously."
In a meeting with Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammad Shia' al-Sudani, Major General Bagheri, referring to the religious, cultural, and historical commonalities of the two countries, added: "The presence of foreign forces, especially Americans, in the region is an important cause of insecurity and instability."
The Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces also said: "Security in the region is only possible with the unity of the neighboring countries."
Major General Bagheri called the issue of Palestine the most important issue of the region and the Islamic world and added: "The very important and strategic operation of Al-Aqsa flood shook the shaky foundations of the Zionist regime and exposed it to the world."
In the meeting, the Prime Minister of Iraq also thanked the government and people of Iran for their stance on the Gaza war and said: "This war clearly defined the positions of the countries and the child-killing Israeli regime showed its true face to the world."
"Mohammed Shi'a al-Sudani added: "Today, the country of Iraq is witnessing stable security thanks to the powerful armed forces, and in this regard, considering the many commonalities between the two countries of Iran and Iraq, we can have more cooperation with each other."
The Prime Minister of Iraq considered the authority and strength of the armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the fields of defense, security and missile to be a matter of pride and noted that: "The two countries of Iran and Iraq, while improving the level of bilateral cooperation in various fields, should, through bilateral cooperation and interaction, solve issues related to the terrorist and anti- revolutionary outfits."
